A post that includes a Gordon Ramsey quote and an Apple reference? That’s what we call an automatic reblog in these parts.
It doesn’t matter how amazing the steak is, if it’s served on a cold plate it’s crap. If it’s served with a dull knife it’s crap. If the gravy isn’t piping hot, it’s crap. If you’re eating it on an uncomfortable chair, it’s crap. If it’s served by an ugly waiter who just came in from a smoke break, it’s crap. Because I care about the steak, I have to care about everything around it. (via Contrast | The Blog | The thickness of napkins)

Rumor: Will Apple add a camera flash to the iPhone?
A flash would be a great addition.
Hey TUAW, the offhand remark stating the iPhone camera is “stale” because it has fewer megapixles is unwarranted. Nearly all iPhone 3GS reviews consider its auto-focus camera to be the best you can get in a mobile phone.
Higher megapixels do not a better image make.
The online store is still down, but the new product pages are starting to roll out!
I never get tired of seeing that image. I wonder how many predictions Gruber will get right this time.
Now that Javahead HQ has been upgraded to Snow Kitty, many of my dev tools have to be rebuilt to take advantage of its 64-bit goodness. Thank goodness Dan Benjamin over at hivelogic has already published several easy-to-follow guides on how to do this:
Well, bugger. Turns out my primary partition wasn’t using a GUID scheme and SL won’t install on it.
At this point, my only option is to reformat the partition using the GUID scheme… And lose all my data.
Luckily, I made a full backup this morning using SuperDuper and I can just boot off the backup, reformat the internal drive and restore the backup.
Snow Leopard is still in my future; it’s just a little further away than I had originally hoped. (which also makes me more grateful I restocked my Larry’s Beans supply today!)
Everyone take a moment to thank Apple for saving us from this completely misleading icon! I mean, it’s completely understandable that I would expect to access my freaking call history from within a unit conversion application.

I’ve reached a point where I can no longer just sit back and watch this. The iPhone ecosystem is toxic, and I can’t participate any more until it is fixed. As people have told me so many times: It’s Apple’s ballgame, and Apple gets to make the rules, and if I don’t like it, I can leave. So, I don’t like it, and I’m leaving.
Who’s next? Hockenberry? Murray? Gruber? I’m desperately hoping that Apple will get their game together before too many high profile developers/pundits start jumping ship.
